Little Rooms Jewelry Goes Retro 1950's Style

Little Rooms has just released its latest grouping of bold baubles – The Thornwall Collection!

An homage to cities, homes, and the creature comforts therein, The Thornwall Collection explores the rise of metropolitan living. A play on the telephone exchange names from the 1950s, which predate phone numbers, Thornwall 84 was once a calling code for Los Angeles – a nod to designer Ester Delug’s hometown.

You’ll also find pieces inspired by waves of all kinds from inescapable seismic waves to radio waves. One of the original forms of popularizing music and broadcasting information, radios are highlighted on rings, earrings, and clutches throughout the collection. Cityscapes, meanwhile, line bangles while houses and bridges rise out of rings, giving this line a tough yet classic appeal.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 In New York City Marathon!

TORY BURCH

Not many contemporary designers have a clearer brand that Tory Burch. Thank her Reva ballet flats with the signature T logo, or thank her unwaveringly preppy aesthetic, but Tory's fans know they won't come into a presentation and be faced with too many surprises. That's not to say that she'll bore you, however. A studded leather skirt may not scream preppy summer fare, but topped with a sweet cardigan and placed next to a pair of eyelet shorts or a classic oxford, and it fits. Metallic tweeds, gingham suits, bright florals and a striped blazer all made for classic looks with just the right amount of quirk.

MICHAEL KORS

"It's a big city, urban collection. You will see plenty of architecture influences," Michael Kors promised before his Spring 2010 runway show. Kors presented a staggering sixty-four looks, including his signature smart sheath dresses in creams and black, punctuated by athletic darting. Sliced waistlines and armbands created dramatic lines, and spoke to Kors' architectural sensibility. Kors explored new avenues this season, experimenting with pastels for the first time. "Normally pastels come off as saccharine to me," the designer confessed. Kors found his equilibrium with Easter egg hues and slashed transparent striping, striking the perfect balance between pretty and powerful.

DONNA KAREN

"Designed to brighten your style, your spirits, your life," wasn't Donna Karan's newest catchphrase for her Urban Zen Center. It was in fact part of the mission statement of the DKNY show. And while they served freshly squeezed juices at her meditation heaven next door, all the best color was popping on this young, and inspired runway. The collection had a refreshing assortment of clean blanks and rose tones, and a welcome array of sparkle. In fact, it had as much bling as the last Balmain runway. There was a definite sense of optimism, flirtatiousness, and clever glamour in this sure to be very successful effort.

DIANE VON FURSTENBURG

Diane von Furstenberg sent out a crowd-pleasing Spring lineup of real-world clothes that started where her Fall collection left off. This season's nomad searcher is "looking into antiquity for effortless beauty," with Egypt and the desert on her horizon, along with a side visit to the Pre-Raphaelites. Saucy tiger-print safari suits and leopard-spot shirtdresses mingled with floral-appliqué chiffon and a daisy-chain maxi dress, while brightly colored macramé hippie frocks mixed with more urbane jersey numbers.

DEREK LAM

Backstage before his show, Derek Lam said they've had to reorder the sexy matte jersey dresses from his Fall collection for his new Crosby Street store, so he brought one back for Spring, but in a bright shade of purple. Everything about this collection felt bolder than its predecessor: That has something to do with the places Lam went looking for inspiration—Asbury Park, Rehoboth Beach, and other East Coast summer destinations, rather than the interior of Coco Chanel's Paris flat. "I haven't done full-on color for a while," he said, "and it feels like the right moment now."

Signals Skin Care Develops Unique Stem Cell Research With Anti-Aging Results

When one mentions the term 'stem cell' there is always an air of skepticism. But with recent clinical studies, this very new development is seeing brighter results on the beauty market. With leaps and bounds being developed in this area, anti-aging products are being newly revised, tested and marketed.
Signals - a newly innovative skin care line has done just that. Using adult compound stem cells. This highly anticipated and new concept will change your perception of skin care from the genes in your body to the surface of your skin. And how is that possible you ask?

Well in recent clinical studies, there are 148 anti-aging genes in our body that control skin function. One of the compounds used in Signals is scientifically proven to positively affect over 22 genes—something never before achieved. These gene expressions will dramatically help to reverse the aging cells of your skin and allow those cells to match the youthful cells of a 20-year old. The compound captures liquid signals secreted by the adult stem cells, and it uses those signals within a cream and lotion base (hence the brand name-Signals). After applying the cream or lotion to your skin your skin starts its repair process from the inside out.

Sound a little far fetched? Well maybe not so, consumers who used Signals experienced a 107% increase in skin hydration. And within a few weeks, noticed a dramatic difference in their skin tone. Fine lines and wrinkles were reduced, and skin is left soft and supple.

So how did we rate it? I tried the three component program including an anti-aging peptide-based exfoliant. This clears off all the dead skin cells and preps your skin for the day lotion, which works all day long, protecting and repairing your skin. Feeding your skin at night with the super hydrating night cream repairs and restores your skin’s elasticity.

Now with a product such as Signals, you do have to be a little patient to see any results, and of course use it daily. The peptide exfoliant applies more like a thin cream, and does not lather like a regular face wash would. And the lotions themselves are rich and creamy. Since I run on the more oilier side, to use a hydrating product puts my skin on the defensive-hence too much hydration. So I would recommend a lighter usage. For dryer skin types, or if you suffer from wrinkles, you will see some excellent results. Overall Signals wins points in the scientific and innovation department, waking other anti-aging brands in it's trail. (Like how many skin care brands do you know that are so innovative using stem cell research?). And as a long term program, you can see Signals as an investment towards a more youthful appearance in your future.

The Signals program retails for $199.00 and is now offering a free 30 day trail with no obligation. Go to Signals.com to experience the Signals skincare collection.
